Miniature Trompe l’oeil Painting
A small bird resting within a painted frame.
This miniature painting is created in the trompe l’oeil technique – a way of painting that gently tricks the eye. The green frame is not a real frame but painted directly onto the square piece of wood, creating the illusion of depth even though the surface itself is completely flat.
The bird’s wing reaches slightly beyond the painted frame, giving the impression that it is about to fly out of the image.
The painting is an original oil painting on wood.
