Miniature Trompe l’oeil Painting

This miniature painting is created in the trompe l’oeil technique – a way of painting that gently tricks the eye. The vivid green frame is not a real frame but painted directly onto the square piece of wood, creating the illusion of depth even though the surface itself is completely flat.
The pansy opens softly within its space, its delicate petals almost luminous against the deep green. There is a quiet stillness to it – as if time has slowed for just a moment. The flower seems both held and free at once, gently contained, yet not entirely bound by its painted surroundings.
